Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler

Making screens with drawing fluid and screen filler is an older, less precise method than making screens with emulsion and films, but is still used by many who prefer a more hands on approach to making screens for screen printing. First, the drawing fluid is painted onto the clean, open screen mesh, and then left to dry. This area that was painted will be your image when you go to print with the screen. Once the drawing fluid has dried, screen filler is spread over the entire mesh area of the screen, and then again left to dry. Lastly, the screen is washed out with water. All the areas that were covered in drawing fluid will rinse off the screen, leaving you with a stencil on the screen that is ready to print!
